“Opioids: Historical Perspective and Current Trends”
This workshop will review opioid use from a historical perspective and in terms of current use trends. The focus will be on the interface between chronic pain management and opioid prescribing and the shift from prescription opioids to heroin and fentanyl (and its derivatives).
Kirk Moberg, MD, Ph.D., FASAM is the Executive Director of the Illinois Institute for Addiction Recovery and Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine and Psychiatry at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. A graduate of the University of Illinois, Dr. Moberg is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Addiction Medicine.
